Sports and Activities

Sport helps children develop better way to cope with the highs and lows of life.

At Joy House Private School, we firmly believe in the benefits of an all-round education and this includes but is not limited to the benefits of taking part in sports and recreation:

• Developmental benefits

sport helps children develop better way to cope with the highs and lows of life. Children also learn to cope with unpleasant experiences (i.e. disappointment in not coming first), which plays an important role in improving their resilience. Taking part in sport also helps children learn to control their emotions and channel negative feelings in a positive way

• Emotional benefits

Playing sport regularly improves children’s overall emotional wellbeing and can improve a child’s self esteem through a supportive coach, achieving their personal best or just being part of a team.

• Social benefits

being part of a team also assists in developing social skills for their future and through the disciple sport helps better understand the requirement for rules and expectations.
